today we celebrate World Pizza Day !
This date, January 17 , was chosen in honor of Sant'Antonio Abate, patron saint of pizza chefs.
The international festival was established in 2017, after the recognition of "The traditional art of the Neapolitan pizza chef" as a cultural heritage of humanity by UNESCO.
The history of Pizza is very ancient and its origins are uncertain, but it is believed that it was invented in Italy, more precisely in Naples, in the 9th century .
At the time, pizza was considered a poor food and was prepared with simple ingredients such as oil, salt and cheese.
As time passes, pizza has become more and more popular and today there are countless varieties of this dish, each with its own unique ingredients and characteristics.
Our advice:
Create the base of the pizza with mozzarella and chopped and pan-fried onion. Add the pistachio pesto, bake and then add raw mortadella, or speck to taste, and chopped pistachios. A real treat! 😋
