Amaro Scoccia is born from the infusion of fresh Sicilian bitter orange peels with a unique mix of bittering herbs .
A round, persistent Sicilian Amaro, with strong notes of orange peel and herbs.
The herbs and oranges of the Amaro Siciliano "Scoccia" are enriched with the unique scents given by the proximity of the volcano and the lava earth.
The essence of bitter orange, in fact, evokes the flavor of the volcanic earth where, in the warm Sicilian sun, orange trees grow. Those trees from which the company collects the best fruits to create a perfectly balanced Sicilian Amaro, with a citrus scent and aftertaste.

History
The recipe for Amaro Siciliano "Scoccia" has its roots in a past in which Sicilian farmers cultivated orange groves in the Catania plain by sharecropping.
The elders tell of a secret recipe handed down by the Benedictine Friars who resided in a monastery that most likely arose towards the end of the 9th century on the slopes of the volcano.
The uncontaminated landscape in which the monastery stood and the lush and fertile wooded area that surrounded it meant that the orange-based recipe, which has reached us today, was enriched with the flavors and aromas present on Etna , giving this Sicilian Amaro is a unique taste in which the delicacy of the orange combines with the strong notes of the lava soil.
Today this recipe evolves into a product with a rounded and persistent taste, characterized by the strong notes of bitter orange peel and bittering herbs, infused through innovative production processes that keep all the flavors and unique characteristics unchanged.

RECIPE
The queen of Scoccia's recipe is precisely the peel of the bitter orange, or Citrus Aurantium, imported into Sicily after the year 1000 by the Arabs.
The stories surrounding citrus fruits and their origins link the lands of the Far East to the Mediterranean: in fact, it seems that the fruit, also known as melangolo, was an ancient hybrid probably between pomelo and mandarin originating from south-east Asia.
According to the most reliable historical reconstruction, it seems that thanks to Islamic expansion in the Mediterranean, the Crusades and, finally, the discovery of America, this fruit spread from the slopes of the Himalayas to California, passing through Sicily.
